Dear Partner,

We are pleased to share following exciting SSL updates with you.

1.    DCV  - Domain Control Validation

DCV is required before the Cert is issued no matter what types of SSL. Only DV orders supported all DCV methods – Email, DNS, File before. Now, OV and EV orders also support all methods, letting you be flexible to complete DCV. And you can change DCV freely when one of it is unavailable.

·         Introduce DCV

Every request for enrollment, renewal, reissue, and revoke goes through the domain control validation (DCV) process.

Email authentication

Sends DCV emails to any email address (e.g., administrator and technical contacts) the CA find in the domain’s WHOIS record and to the five constructed email addresses for the domain (admin, administrator, webmaster, hostmaster, and postmaster

@[domain_name]).

File-based authentication

Returns a random value token in the response body to be placed in a .txt file on the website to be secured by the certificate. Using this method requires the ability to upload files to the web server.

DNS-based authentication
Returns a random value token in the response body to be added to a DNS TXT record on the domain. Using this method required the ability to modify domain DNS records.

·         Choose DCV

When placing SSL orders, you will be promoted to choose “Domain Validation Method”, as below. This applies to all types of SSL.
